Frequently Asked Questions

What services does Ramsay Brown provide, and who do you support?

Ramsay Brown provides specialist medical accountancy support for GP practices, consultants, and PCNs across the UK. We're a team of experienced healthcare accountants who offer a range of services, from complex NHS pensions and tax support for individuals to financial planning and superannuation services for entire organisations. We've grown rapidly over the last few years as health policy has become increasingly complicated, offering broader, more personalised support to help medical professionals navigate all their accounting challenges.

When might I need to engage a healthcare accountant like those who work at Ramsay Brown?

If you're a healthcare professional operating across the primary care sector and you're navigating complicated NHS funding structures or dealing with bookkeeping, superannuation, taxation, or year-end accounts and forecasts, then there's a high chance we can help! Since our foundation, we've supported over 2,000 healthcare professionals across the UK, so we've got a wealth of experience across all areas of medical accountancy. Whatever challenge you have, we can help.

What does working with Ramsay Brown typically look like?

We believe that a great healthcare accountant doesn't just concern themselves with the numbers – they get to know the individuals and organisations they work with on a deeper level. Ramsay Brown will always listen to the unique circumstances and challenges you're facing to ensure we provide the most effective, tailored support.

Who are your newsletters for?

Our newsletters are for anyone working across the primary care sector who wants to get their head around the latest NHS policy decisions, complicated primary care funding webs, or the day-to-day challenges facing GPs. If you need to know how the McCloud judgement is still impacting NHS pensions, for example, or how minimum wage increases will impact GP practices differently based on their workforce composition, our newsletters are for you.

How often do you send these newsletters, and what will I get in each edition?

We write and send these newsletters on a bimonthly basis, with each edition demystifying a primary care topic that might, at first, appear impenetrable. From major NHS policy announcements to the nitty-gritty of pension statements, our newsletter "deep dives" – written by our team of specialist healthcare accountants – provide all the solutions and information you need to know.
